My Goal was to improve my active listening skills in the classroom. When I started my field placement, I was struggling with my active listening skills but at the end of the field placement, EA helped me. I learned from the teachers or EA. I've been searching for people that are skilled at what I want to improve. When I started my field placement, I was struggling with my active listening skills because I have a lack of confidence. When there is background noise, I cannot hear the teacher's conversations and it is hard to focus. My active listening experience has prepared me for a future in the Educational Assistant field. Active listening is one of the most essential skills in the educational field. It promotes effective communication, builds strong relationships, and helps students and educational institutions succeed.

 

Yes, I completed my smart Goal.  When I started my field placement, I was having difficulty with my active listening. During my field placement, I was getting comfortable with my active listening. I am still working on my active listening now and I will research active listening strategies. On the first day of field placement, I feel confident and I always ask the teachers questions. As I get better at active listening, it'll become easier and more natural for me. When I feel comfortable with active listening, it means I am building skills that can make a huge difference in my life and work.
